Old City Hall Christian Fellowship was founded ninety years ago by two Christian sisters who built a meeting place for women on Mersea Island. Over time it has grown into a church for all, grounded in Biblical truth and nurtured by three generations of the French family. Today, around twenty-five people worship here regularly, joined by visitors from across the Island and beyond. Since 2018, the fellowship has been raising funds to extend the worship space, install a new kitchen, and provide accessible facilities. Alongside Sunday services, the monthly ladies’ coffee morning and regular men’s breakfast continue to offer friendship, fellowship, and encouragement in faith.

When we found out about Church Growth Trust, we realised that there was a source of advice and support that would help us with our fundraising project. We need to raise money to extend our building, replace the roof, install a new kitchen and an accessible WC and CGT have advised us, signposted us to agencies who have helped and provided the most amazing support. They have made a huge difference to us.
